【明報專訊】In Hong Kong, horse racing inevitably links with gambling. In a survey carried out in 2008, 17.8% of the respondents said they had bet on the horses in the previous year. On average they bet $730 each month, much of which was on the horses. As excessive gambling may be dangerous, the Hong Kong Jockey Club has pursed its Responsible Gambling Policy. By promoting responsible gambling, it aims at minimising the harm gambling may potentially cause to individuals and society.
